Reflexology is one of the gentlest treatments there is, and a great choice if you’d like to relax without a full massage. If you’re thinking about trying it for the first time, here’s what to expect.
What is reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-invasive treatment where the therapist applies gentle pressure to specific points on the feet. Most people simply find it very relaxing — it’s common to drift off.
Before your session
When you book, I’ll ask a few questions about your health and lifestyle. This helps me make sure reflexology is suitable for you, and everything you tell me stays private.
It helps to:
- wear comfortable clothes — you stay fully dressed apart from shoes and socks
- avoid a heavy meal just before you come
- give yourself a little time afterwards, so you’re not rushing straight back out
During the session
You’ll sit back and get comfortable, and I’ll work through each foot in turn using gentle, rhythmic pressure. You can chat or stay quiet — whatever helps you relax. If anything feels uncomfortable, just say.
Afterwards
Take it easy for the rest of the day if you can, and have a glass of water.
